Let the bells ring, we've got highish speed again! After months of research and trying a few different technologies we've finally got a way to stay connected with the 21st Century. It's called mobile wireless, and it's less expensive than satellite, and a lot more flexible. We can actually take the laptop with us and connect anywhere that there's a Bell network. Sweet!
Now, which movie trailers do I want to watch? Oh yeah, my nephew David's movie is just sitting there waiting for me to watch. Now that's awesome!
BTW - while I've been writing this I'm listening to Radio Paradise, an internet radio station out of Paradise California, and searching for the image attached to this entry. Oh how I've missed that radio station - they play awesome music. The best part of all is that it's cheaper than satellite with no long term contract, unlike satellite, and it's unlimited, also unlike satellite, with a latency as low as 100 ms (for you techno-types out there).

How very exciting! You must be so pleased with yourselves!
Glad you chose David's movie as one of your first treats. It really is cute, isn't it? And some cool techniques. Ask me for the back stories on Why We're Awesome. They're almost as good as the real thing!
Did you also watch the Raphael Is Dead trailer?

I haven't "visited" in a while - glad to see that all is well with you and Jeanette.
Now that you are on high speed - get the web cam!! We can set a date to "see" each other.
Hi, I'm moving down from Ontario too and happen to have got an email from my agent with a property at 699 Ardoise School Road.. So, this makes me a stranger asking for a favour but I wonder if you could tell me how your wireless internet is working out for you - vis a vis reliability and speed? (My job depends on a good internet connection and for entertainment purposes.. how's your downloading?) Thanks for any info you can give!
Hi Darryl,
you ask an interesting question, especially at this time in Nova Scotia. We have a wireless internet card from Aliant to access the EVDO network available in this area (we're just down the street from where you're looking). Download speed tonight of 937 Kb/s and upload of 426 Kb/s.
If you'd like I can take the laptop and try it in front of the property to see what the signal is like.
That being said, there is an initiative in play at the moment to have the entire province connected to high-ish speed internet through a wireless Rural Internet program. It's supposed to be up running by the end of the year.
Let me know if you'd like more info about any of this.
Martin
